We have made tremendous strides protecting our Section 35 Constitutional harvesting rights, but our work must continue. We must engage with all levels of government and stakeholders, to ensure we are not swept aside again. We need to make our voices heard and ensure access to our traditional foods, medicines, and historic homelands are protected in both law and practice. At a time where food insecurity and affordability is affecting so many of our people, we must safeguard these rights to our traditional ways and practices. Our ancestors knew and respected that our sacred homeland could provide everything we need, so we must fight to protect these natural gifts.
