The factors driving Canada's affordability crisis will require significant and substantial collaboration with all levels of government. The over representation of Indigenous and Métis people among vulnerable populations stresses the need for our voices to be heard. Its never been more important that we recognize that our traditional ways of harvesting and gathering is essential to paving the way forward for Indigenous and Métis people. Building upon the work the Métis Nation of Alberta is already taking to engage in community education, strengthening our communities by Re-Indigenizing our approach to food security and reducing our dependence upon broken colonial systems.
